Housing Choice Voucher Program
Dane County Housing Authority administers the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program/Section 8 Program, which provides eligible families and individuals the opportunity to rent housing of their choice on the private market. Our jurisdiction is all of Dane County except the City of Madison, which is covered by the CDA of the City of Madison.

The HCV Program is a major federal government program helping very low income families, the elderly, and disabled afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing.

Both Project Based Vouchers (PBVs) and regular tenant based Housing Choice Vouchers (what most people think of when they think of Section 8) fall under this category.
