Beginning 3/18/20 DCHA is closed to the public until future notice

Most staff will still be working, either remotely or in the office.  Clients may still be able to schedule appointments but we are not allowing walk-ins to our office.  HUD has issed guidance that we will continue to work to meet deadlines and make payments as we otherwise normally would.  Visit the contact us section to see ways to contact us without visiting our office.  We hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy!

The mission of Dane County Housing Authority is to promote adequate and affordable housing, economic opportunity, and a suitable living environment free from discrimination.

Dane County Housing Authority (DCHA) was created in 1972 by the Dane County Board of Supervisors to address the affordable housing needs of low-income families in Dane County

Wait List Currently Closed

The Housing Choice Voucher Program is a major federal government program helping very-low income families, the elderly, and disabled afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing. Also known as the Section 8 Program.

Subsidized Housing (where tenants pay 30% of their income in rent and utilities) through HUD's Low Income Public Housing Program, HUD's Multi-Family Section 8 Program, and USDA's Rural Development Program.
